PANDEF Celebrates Fubara, Dickson, Two Niger Delta Icons as They Turn 51, 60
By Florence Amah
The Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) has described Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State and Senator Seriake Dickson, former Governor of Bayelsa State, as enduring icons of the Niger Delta, as both leaders mark their 51st and 60th birthday anniversaries.
In a congratulatory message signed by PANDEF National Chairman, Ambassador (Dr.) Godknows Boladei Igali, OON, the Forum said the milestone birthdays provide a rare moment to honour leadership that has consistently placed public interest, regional peace, and democratic values above personal ambition.
PANDEF said Governor Fubara, at 51, symbolises a forward-looking generation of leadership driven by competence, humility, and speed in service delivery. The Forum noted that Rivers State has continued to experience accelerated development, stability, and renewed public trust under his administration.
On Senator Dickson at 60, PANDEF described the Bayelsa-born lawmaker as a principled statesman whose voice in the Senate continues to shape national conversations around democracy, justice, and federalism. His political journey, the Forum said, reflects resilience, courage, and an unwavering commitment to constitutional governance.
Celebrating Icons of Service and Sacrifice
PANDEF emphasised that the celebration of Governor Fubara and Senator Dickson goes beyond birthdays, noting that it is a celebration of leadership rooted in sacrifice, vision, and service to the people of the Niger Delta and Nigeria.
The Forum further acknowledged other unsung heroes of the region whose contributions, though often unrecognised, remain critical to the South-South’s progress.
A Call for Sustained Leadership
As both leaders advance into new personal milestones, PANDEF expressed confidence that their experience, wisdom, and commitment will continue to serve as a guiding light for younger leaders and future generations in the Niger Delta.
The message concluded with prayers for long life, good health, and greater accomplishments for Governor Fubara and Senator Dickson, reaffirming PANDEF’s role as a rallying platform for unity, excellence, and sustainable development in the South-South.
